1st day: Welcome to Spilimbergo
- about 45 km - about 250 m altitude difference
Journey to Spilimbergo, one of the most beautiful, historical and artistically most valuable localities in Friuli. Spilimbergo is also called “the city of the mosaic”. After your check in at the hotel you explore the hill landscape of San Daniele, you enjoy a wonderful panorama and walk through almost untouched nature. You make a mountain bike tour through the region. After this, there is time for a long walk through picturesque lanes of the center. The palaces in Venetian style offer you a great scenery. Before dinner there is a wine tasting in a Enoteca in Spilimbergo. Afterwards you will enjoy Friulian delicacies at a very good Trattoria near the hotel.
2nd day: „Survival “
- about 72 km - about 100 m altitude difference
After breakfast (breakfast buffet) we make a beautiful trip into the densely wooded pre-Alps – Castelnuovo, Clauzetto and Vito D’Asio. Gravel roads, single trails and paths require technical fate and concentration from the mountain biker. This great mountain bike tour leads you through the fascinating landscape of Friuli, through beech forests, to natural grottos above the wonderful hill landscape and above the plains of the pre-Alps. You discover a natural paradise with characteristic plants, animals and transparent brooks. Experience magic peace wrapped in a coloured natural paradise. In the afternoon return to the hotel and dinner at our typical Trattoria with regional delicacies.
3rd day: „Pre-Alps – Cross tour
- about 70 km - about 900 m altitude difference
After a substantial breakfast we leave Spilimbergo by car and drive to the beautiful protected area Cornino (about 15 minutes from Spilimbergo). We park the cars and go by bike to the nature reservation of the Tagliamento. Characteristic animals and plants (there are very rare kinds of orchids) as well as natural occurrences offer you a unique scenery – a great natural experience. Together we drive to the Friulian “Loch Ness”, where mountain peaks of the surrounding pre-Alps reflect in its waters and invite you to stay. The fantastic mountain bike tour leads you on a strenuous seam path to the Monte Cuarnan (1075m). The landscape offers you an unforgettable view on the plain of Friuli and the blaze of colour of the flowering meadows. In the late afternoon (about 4:00 o’clock) – return to Cornino. Departure.
